GENERAL:

Glencullen Adventure Park (The GAP), (including Glencullen Bike Park) places great importance on the safety of its visitors and endeavours to ensure that high standards are met by all persons visiting the park. Please assist us in ensuring our bike park and its facilities remain a safe place in which to enjoy fun and exciting experiences.

In these Entry Conditions, the following definitions shall apply:

Attraction Glencullen Adventure Park, Glencullen, Co Dublin or any part of it;

’Us’/’We’/’The Company’ Zonla Limited (Company No. 595255) whose registered office address is at: 5 Anglesea Bldgs, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin.

By purchasing a ticket to ride, you are subject to the following Entry Conditions. If you do not comply with them you may be asked to leave from the Park by staff or security, without any right to a refund. This is without prejudice to any claim that we may have against you or arising out of your actions. Whilst on Glencullen Adventure Park land and property, you must comply with any reasonable instructions given to you by its staff or any third party instructed on behalf of the Company. The Company, acting reasonably, reserves the right to vary these Entry Conditions at any time without prior notice. By entering the Park, you accept that you have a duty to take reasonable steps to ensure your own safety, taking into account any personal medical conditions. All persons in and around the Park should behave in a safe manner at all times.

 

Glencullen Adventure Park IS PRIVATE PROPERTY. All persons entering the site must pay for admission or hold a valid ticket to ride. The sale of tickets/vouchers by anyone other than the Company is strictly prohibited. All tickets are non-transferable, not for resale and will become automatically void on any transfer for value. Tickets purchased are only valid on the date printed on the ticket.

 

Vehicles are parked at the owners’ risk. We take no responsibility for damage caused to any vehicle using the car park and no guarantee is given as to the security of guests’ vehicles in the car park or any contents. No vehicles are permitted to remain on site outside of normal operating hours. 

SAFETY BRIEFING

It is important that everyone who rides here at Glencullen Adventure Park takes note of the following Health & Safety advice:

  • Mountain Biking is an extreme sport; Mountain bike trails include large obstacles, which can be physically testing, and there is a risk of injury and death when undertaking such activities.
  • Trails are graded according to ability. Ensure that you read all of the safety signage and are competent to ride each trail. If in doubt start on the easiest trails!
  • Trails change with weather conditions and from continual trail amendments and improvements, so do not assume they will always be exactly the same each time you visit.
  • Follow the Mountain Bikers Responsibility Code
  • Children aged 16 and under need to be supervised by a responsible adult (over 18 years of age) at ALL times
  • You must ALWAYS wear a helmet. We also strongly advise you wear a full face helmet, gloves and body armour. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A HELMET YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RIDE IN THE PARK
  • Read and adhere to all advice signs while using the trails.
  • It is your responsibility to ensure your equipment is fit for purpose

 

RESPONSIBILITY CODE (TICKBOX)

We reserve the right to remove passes and/or ban riders for breaches of the responsibility code.

  • Always carry a mobile phone and make sure it is charged before you leave the house. If in need of assistance contact the visitor centre on: 01 2942782
  • Avoid riding alone wherever possible
  • It is your responsibility to avoid crashing into other riders and objects around you!
  • Respect the trail gradings, read the grading descriptions. Begin on the easier trails and do not ride trails that are beyond your current level of ability.
  • Do not stop on the trail. Pull off the trail in a safe place if you need to stop for any reason.
  • When entering a trail or starting downhill, you must look uphill and give way to other riders coming down the trail.
  • Even if you have ridden a trail before, be careful! We make ongoing changes and improvements to the trails and features, so they may have changed since your last visit.
  • If a rider is hurt, do not move them, notify staff immediately.
  • Keep off closed trails and forest areas and obey all signs and warnings.
  • Stay on marked trails only, and do not modify any of the trails.
  • Only ride the trails during the centre’s opening hours. You are not permitted to access the trails when the venue is closed.
  • Do not push/ride up downhill trails.
  • Take your litter home with you!
  • Keep off Glencullen Adventure Park property if your ability is impaired through the use of drugs or alcohol.
  • Be friendly and respectful to your fellow riders and other users of the Park, poor conduct will not be tolerated.
  • Riders 16 years of age and under must be accompanied by a legal guardian (over 18) at all times.
  • All riders must display a valid pass at all times.
  • Please help us maintain the park. If you see a problem on the trails report it to us.

 

MOUNTAIN BIKE AND EQUIPMENT CHECKLIST (TICKBOX)

We recommend the use of modern, 140-170mm travel full suspension trail bikes with good quality hydraulic disk brakes in Glencullen Adventure Park. Before riding always inspect your equipment or have it checked by a qualified bike mechanic. 

  • Helmets are mandatory, ensure that your helmet is in good shape and properly adjusted; we highly recommend the use of full face protection helmets. Gloves, eye protection and body armor are also highly recommended.
  • Inspect bike frame for cracks, damaged or dented areas.
  • Ensure you have sufficient brake pads to stop your bike while descending; two working brakes are mandatory.
  • Front and rear axles (quick release or bolt through type) should be tight.
  • Headset and stem must be secure with no looseness or play.
  • Check that your tyres are in good condition, with plenty of tread and no cuts or abrasions in the sidewall and that rims show no cracks or signs of weakness and all spokes are tight and intact.
  • Handlebars and handlebar grips must be tight and unable to spin.
  • Seat and seat post need to be fastened securely.
  • Suspension should be in good working order with no leaks or loose parts. 

 

ACCEPTANCE OF RISK

You are about to take part in a high-risk sporting activity, however the risk will be reduced (but not eliminated) if you follow all of the Health and Safety information supplied by Glencullen Adventure Park.

  • I understand that I must wear a helmet at all times and that a full-face helmet, eye protection, body armour and gloves are highly recommended.
  • I agree that I will follow the Responsibility Code at all times.
  • I agree to check my bike and equipment as per the Mountain Bike Checklist at the start of the day, before each run and after any crash.
  • In the unlikely event of an accident, or loss or damage to my personal effects, I acknowledge that the company and any associated parties will not be liable for any direct or indirect loss, damage or injury arising from or in connection with the Activities (except for death or Personal Injury caused by the Company’s negligence).
  • I understand that Mountain Biking is dangerous and includes substantial obstacles, which can be physically testing. I accept that there is a risk of injury and death when undertaking such activities.
  • I certify that to the best of my knowledge I do not have a medical condition which could result in injury to myself or to others.
  • Each rider must have working, fully charged lights and accepts responsibility that lights are in working order
  • Each rider is required to sign in at the start of the spin and sign out at the end of the spin at reception.

 

MEDICAL PERMISSION AUTHORISATION

I give permission for Glencullen Adventure Park to authorize such emergency first aid or medical treatment as may be deemed necessary while participating in all forms of biking activity at The Gap and I agree to be responsible for the cost of same.

I HAVE READ THIS DOCUMENT AND MEDICAL PERMISSION AUTHORISATION AND BY SIGNING IT I AGREE TO EXEMPT AND RELIEVE GLENCULLEN ADVENTURE PARK FROM ALL LIABILITY FOR PERSONAL INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE OR WRONGFUL DEATH.
